Couture has clean and rounded lines for which Philippe Starck is well known for.
At first glance, this new chair appears to be a regular plastic shell on metal frame chair, but it comes with an interesting twist.
This is achieved by using a new print-on-plastic technique known as heliotransfer that allows patterns
to be printed on plastic. Starck's idea of this design is to move away from the minimalist era.
He explicitly makes reference to the fashion industry in its chic and frivolous dimension.
Couture is the living proof that the worlds of design and fashion are not so far apart
and can blend successfully together.
